Shaina of Norway
Shaina of Norway
Hi! My name’s Shaina and I’m nine years old. I live in Oslo, the capital city of Norway. Here in Norway, in the summer, the sun never sets and the night is as bright as day. In the port near our house, fishermen sell their fish, especially the most famous fish in Norway — Norwegian salmon. Not far from there, you can see the spectacular fjords.
Today, my friend is visiting from a different country and we’re going on a fascinating journey: together we’ll visit the royal palace of Norway, pick berries and mushrooms in the forest, and exchange stories about being young lamplighters in different countries.
Shaina from Norway is the sixth book in the Lamplighter series. These books will allow young readers to peek into the lives of boys and girls from all around the globe. They will meet children who, together with their parents, are trying to help Jews learn more about their heritage.
Via these first-person accounts, readers will visit the most fascinating places. They will be drawn into these children’s lives and they will learn all about the cities in which they live.
Fascinating facts and interesting descriptions alongside authentic professional photographs are included throughout the book. These stories will broaden horizons while demonstrating the art of giving and caring for their fellow Jews.
