Approved & Vetted Secular Books for the Classroom
At Menucha Classrooms, we understand how difficult it can be to navigate today’s rapidly changing world of children's literature. That’s why we created a curated collection of vetted secular books — titles that our team has reviewed, evaluated, and approved for your school’s standards.
Each book is assigned a Content Level from 1 to 4 so educators can confidently choose appropriate material for their students.
All books within Levels 1–4 have been deemed appropriate for our collections and selected as engaging, high-quality reads. Books that do not meet our standards are classified as Level 5 or higher and are not included.

Level One
These books contain no concerning material of any kind. They are typically picture books and early-reader chapter books that are universally suitable for classroom use. -
Level Two
Books at this level may include:- • Mild language such as “stupid” or “crazy”
- • General references to technology, media, or popular culture
- • Other minor content notes that educators may wish to be aware of

Level Three
These books may include:- • Slightly stronger or more frequent mild language such as “heck,” “darn,” etc.
- • References to dating, romance, or relationships. Words such as: “flirt” or “romance”, as well as minor boy/girl social interactions.
- • Other themes or situations that may warrant consideration depending on a school’s standards

Level Four
Books at this level may contain:- • More frequent mild or moderate language
- • More mature relationship themes or social situations
- • Sensitive themes or content that educators may want to review before selecting the book
Importantly, these books are not altered or edited in any way. They have been reviewed and determined to be acceptable when educators are aware of the included sensitivities.
